Warranty for a car you bought privately
You can get an extended warranty on a privately bought used car. The warranty provider needs a mechanic's condition report first, so here is what to expect before you pay.
Before you pay: Integrity Car Care needs a vehicle condition report from a licensed mechanic before a warranty for a privately bought car can be lodged. The mechanic may charge for the inspection. Ask the mechanic for the price before you book; we'll confirm what's needed before anything is arranged.
How it works for private purchases
- Check your price online. Choose "privately" when asked how you bought the car. You see the warranty options your car qualifies for and the full price.
- Book a mechanical inspection. Any licensed mechanical workshop can complete Integrity's vehicle condition report form.
- Pay and upload. Upload the condition report and an odometer photo at checkout. If you don't have the report yet, you can pay first and upload it later from the link we email you.
- We lodge, Integrity confirms. Once we have the report, we lodge your warranty and Integrity issues your schedule and certificate.
Your cover is not in place until Integrity issues your schedule. If the inspection finds a fault, that fault is not covered, and Integrity may not be able to accept the vehicle. If your vehicle can't be accepted, we'll tell you and arrange a refund.
Which warranty can I get?
The same products as for dealer purchases. Your car's age and kilometres when you buy decide which levels or options are available.
- Absolute Warranty: parts covered by the original manufacturer's warranty, except listed exclusions. Level 1 for cars up to 15 years and under 220,000 km.
- Endurance Warranty: 20 named components. Option 1 has no age or kilometre limit.
From $746 incl. GST for 1 year. See every price and what isn't covered.
