Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28/10/2026

This policy explains how MyDriveShield, a trading name of Capital Gateway Pty Ltd (ABN 36 667 087 685) ("we", "us"), handles personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health details. Please do not include it in your messages.

2. Why we collect it

If you do not give us the information we need, we may not be able to quote or arrange cover for you.

3. AI-assisted processing of enquiries

We use artificial intelligence software to help our team manage enquiries. When you email us, the text of your email may be processed by an AI model, provided by Anthropic, PBC (USA), to:

The AI does not make decisions about your eligibility, price or cover, and it does not send replies to you on its own. A member of our team reviews enquiries and responds. Our AI provider does not use the content we send it to train its models.

Website chat. The chat on our website is an AI assistant, also provided by Anthropic. It tells you it is an AI system. It answers general questions using only the information published on our website, gives factual information only (not advice), and does not decide your eligibility, price or cover. You can ask for a person at any time, and it offers to arrange a call back for advice, complaints, claims and anything it is unsure about. Your chat messages are processed by Anthropic and kept in our automation system (n8n) so we can respond and improve the service. If you ask for a call back, your details and the chat are sent to our team by email and saved in our customer records (HubSpot). Please do not type card, licence or health details into the chat.

If we introduce a phone assistant that uses AI, it will tell you that you are dealing with an AI system, and you can ask for a person at any time.

4. Automated eligibility checks

Our online checkout uses the provider's published rules to check whether a vehicle is eligible for a product, based on its age, odometer reading and your answers to the provider's eligibility questions. If the rules show the vehicle is not eligible, the website will not take payment for that product and offers a callback instead. A person can review the result: call us or request a callback. The provider makes the final decision on eligibility when the cover is lodged.

If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as the law requires.
